Damart

The name Damart is synonymous with thermal underwear, even though they also do an extensive range of women and men’s clothing and shoes.  Damart knows its customer base well and its products are mostly aimed at older women.  Their thermal clothing and nightwear are peerless; the fabrics they use are specially designed to adapt to the external temperature, they’re practical, attractive but also incredibly comfortable. Damart knows very well that although us forty something girls do want to look good, we’ve got to an age where comfort has become essential too.

It’s this knowledge of and care for the more mature lady that makes Damart’s link to Breast Cancer Campaign such an apt one.  Since 2008 they have produced a range of pink products from which a proportion of the profits goes to the Campaign. The bestselling item is the pink thermal vest and there are also fluffy bedsocks and glitzy long socks.  All pretty, girly, comfy and helping to fund research into a disease which tends to affect the older ladies who Damart caters to.  A perfect partnership and a nice example of business putting something back into the community.

All that said, if my experiences are anything to go by, Damart may have a secret, younger group of customers out there.  My mum bought me Damart thermal clothing when I went to university in Wales and I have been a convert ever since.  My ten year old daughter has had the very smallest thermal vest we could get her, ever since she had to perform in a freezing church three years ago (she adores it still) and my trendy fourteen year old recently borrowed some of my thermal clothing for a trip to Salzburg!  And, as every woman knows, all of us, from age one to a hundred either owns or desires fluffy pink bedsocks!
